Happy headspace Day, a national day of support for the mental health and wellbeing of all young Australians.
As our brains are developing through the adolescent years into adulthood, they are highly susceptible to changes in wellbeing that can seriously impact on the trajectory of a young person’s life. If they require support for their mental wellbeing during this critical time of development, receiving quality mental health support can literally be life changing for that person.
In the Pilbara, our communities are the life blood of our regional living, and we are very proud to say that headspace Pilbara, along with our consortium partners, play an integral role in supporting our communities.
headspace Pilbara is walking alongside young people on their journey into adulthood. We are here to support, advocate, educate and connect with them. We are engaged in our community, in a trusted and celebrated relationship with young people where we execute best practice skills and share our knowledge in a respectful and relatable way.
At the heart of our work is the voice of the Youth Advisory Group who inform, inspire, challenge and motivate our work to meet the needs of young people in our community. Working in a truly person-centred way means that we have invested in and support two-way meaningful relationships with them. This relationship has enabled us to create a space with young people, for them and where they feel most safe to connect, learn and engage.
Every engagement with a young person is deliberate and meticulously planned; if it looks like fun and games, then we are doing our job!
