COVID-19 has presented significant challenges to members of our communities and to primary health care services and providers over the past two years. WA Primary Health Alliance has been proactive and innovative in our response to Australian Government requirements for PHNs to lead in pandemic planning and management with the primary health care sector.
Our COVID-19 Primary Care Response Strategic Statement defines our scope and role in assisting Western Australia’s primary care sector deal with living with COVID-19 as an ongoing reality.
Current models of care and modes of care delivery will need to be scaled, expanded, and supplemented with innovative and agile approaches that recognise lessons learnt in WA, nationwide and internationally, that encompass the emergence and spread of the Omicron variant.
We recognise the enormous task ahead and will continue to support our commissioned service providers, general practice, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services and other stakeholders, keeping them abreast of the latest information and updates and helping them to continue to deliver their vital front-line services to the best of our ability.
