The recent 2025 Pharmaceutical Society of Australia WA Pharmacist Awards recognised the impact of pharmacists working in a general practice setting.
The Pharmacist of the Year award was presented to Ashleigh Chapman, a highly respected non-dispensing pharmacist at View Street Medical. The Early Career Pharmacist of the Year was awarded to Rhiannon Price, a talented pharmacist working at Derbarl Yerrigan Health Service.
Ashleigh and Rhiannon’s contributions to multidisciplinary team care within a general practice setting demonstrate the important contribution pharmacists can make as part of a general practice team. It fosters collaboration, breaks down silos and, most importantly, ensures patients’ medication regimes are optimised.
WA Primary Health Alliance’s integrating non-dispensing pharmacists into general practices program, exemplifies the power of teamwork in improving patient outcomes and quality use of medications.
