The Australian Government Department of Health has released the National Immunisation Strategy 2019–2024, which builds upon the success of the first National Immunisation Strategy 2013 – 2018. The strategy comprises eight priority areas to complement and strengthen the National Immunisation Program. Its aim is to outline the framework for the prevention of severe outcomes of disease by maximising immunisation coverage in people of all ages. It is consistent with Australian, state and territory government collective efforts and outlines Australia’s key role in the Asia-Pacific region.
