STI cases are rising in WA. Syphilis notifications in particular have risen dramatically, with a 32-fold increase in cases since 2005 reported by the WA Department of Health. This year, syphilis has already caused two stillbirths in WA.
To support WA health care workers to remain up-to-date with the latest information on syphilis and other STIs, ASHM, with funding from WA Department of Health, has recently launched new and updated education to strengthen STI testing and treatment, and to increase syphilis awareness in WA.
