WA Primary Health Alliance (WAPHA) recently held GP events in Esperance and Kalgoorlie to focus on GP mental health.
The events, held during Mental Health Week, were delivered in collaboration with the Rural Clinical School of WA, Rural Health West, WA Country Health Service and the Goldfields Mental Health Service.
Linking in with the Mental Health Week theme – Mental Health starts where we live, learn, work and play – it was an opportunity to remind all health professionals to stop and think about their own mental health.
The Esperance event was attended by Professor Geoff Riley and GP and WAPHA Board director Dr Damien Zilm.
The Kalgoorlie event was attended by Dr Roland Main, WAPHA general manager Linda Richardson and Dr Zilm.
WAGPET chief operating officer Dean McNair and Dr Christopher Buck also attended both events.
WAPHA funded service providers were invited to join the GPs and allied health professionals for a networking session to discuss their programs and referral pathways.
