WA Primary Health Alliance, as the operator of WA’s three PHNs, is working together with Advance Care Planning Australia and other PHNs on a digital storytelling project called Your Voice, Your Choice.
The project is designed to engage the community, carers and health professionals and spark conversations around advance care planning.
Advance care planning involves planning your health care wishes ahead of time, so they are known and documented if you were ever unable to speak for yourself due to serious illness or injury.
Your Voice, Your Choice, aims to capture short videos of carers, health sector professionals, and the community sharing their personal stories, knowledge and thoughts around advance care planning and end of life care.
The short videos will be captured by each individual storyteller via their own mobile device, using the app Cinefly. The Cinefly app is easy to use, walking participants through the filming process in a fun and simple way. Filming will run next week from 19 April.
The best bits of the short videos will be used to create a series of videos to engage the community and raise awareness of advance care planning.
The video series will be available on the Primary Health Network websites and Advance Care Planning Australia, for viewing by the community, carers and health sector professionals.
We’re looking for community members, carers and health professionals who are comfortable sharing their thoughts and stories on camera for this project. Anyone who gets involved will receive a digital copy of their complete video story.
