Expression of Interest – General Practitioners in the South Metropolitan Health Service Referral Catchment Areas

Opportunity to partner with the Department of Clinical Immunology, Fiona Stanley Hospital in a pilot to provide real-time access to specialist advice from the General Practitioners office (Virtual Immunology Clinic-General Practice)

The Department of Clinical Immunology at Fiona Stanley Hospital is looking to partner with up to 10-20 General Practitioners to pilot an expansion of its Virtual Immunology Clinic; with the aim of providing access in real-time to Consultant Immunologist advice via Microsoft Teams.

They are seeking Expressions of Interest from GPs to participate in this pilot who meet the following criteria

  • Practise within the Fiona Stanley Hospital referral catchment.
  • Regularly see and refer paediatric and adult patients with immunological disorders (eczema, food allergy, respiratory allergic disease, recurrent infections, systemic autoimmune disease etc).
  • An office that is set up for Telehealth services provided via video-call media, including:
    • High speed internet connection (specify minimum)
    • A Desktop PC or mobile device that:
      • Has internet access via Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
      • Has enough processing power to stream video for the virtual consultation
      • Is equipped with camera and microphone
      • Allows simultaneous access to emails should additional communication (eg of URL’s) be required.
    • An interest in exploring new referral work flows to enable timely access for patients to Specialist advice.
